AHD-WNA is a communication computer with a “web and access” function. The system enables Internet access to the ship's current operating data and control selected functions. It is also possible to update the system configuration or display visualization. The user is shown the visualization known from the ship's panel PCs in the Internet browser. This can be operated as usual with a mouse and keyboard. Existing systems can easily be retrofitted.
Remote access requires no other software or hardware besides an Internet browser. Access to AHD-WNA is secured several times. Protection through a password and encryption of data transmission protect against unauthorised access by third parties. In order to ensure the safety of ship management, critical functions, such as starting and stopping machines or aggregates, are blocked for the user.
