The AHD-WOP control unit has all the necessary control elements to control ship signal horns. In addition to the option of manually operating the horn, the most important sound signals are pre-programmed for use when visibility is reduced. These can be triggered directly via keys and released at selectable intervals. Separate buttons are used to select both sound signal and signal repetition interval, and the current status is displayed via LEDs. Another button starts and stops playback. With a simple push of a button, signals for changes of direction and collision warning can also be triggered.
Up to four AHD WOPs can be connected serially to control the same signal horn. If necessary, the ship's signal lanterns can also be used to send warning messages as light signals. The sound signals emitted by AHD-WOP for manoeuvres and warning as well as for use in reduced visibility comply with the âColRegSâ (Convention on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972) including additions.
